Lake Simcoe - Toque

Great hats, good variety

I got the Lake Simcoe toque for my boyfriend, and the Hamilton Mountain toque for my dad. They both really loved their hats, both for the fit/quality and the charm factor of having a toque with your beloved hometown on it. They're large, deep toques that could either look like a slouchy beanie or like a stereotypical soft-pointy toque, depending on how big your head is (slouchy beanie if your head is small). But the material is malleable and soft so if you don't like the "pointy-head" look that deep toques give you can just fold the top material over easily, as my BF has. The hats came fairly quickly via Canada Post, arrived in perfect condition, and were wrapped in plastic (which I'm very grateful for, because I'm sure we've all had a cardboard shipping box get drenched by snow). They're pricey hats but you get the customization factor, and they really are nice quality fabric, too.

My only complaint: low product stock! I initially wanted to get the Old Ottawa South & Hamilton toques, but those were out of stock, as were most of the other hats I clicked on just out of interest. I'm still a little disappointed at how many of Tuck Shop Trading Co's "City of Neigbourhoods" hats were out of stock, and aren't going to be replenished any time soon (I emailed and they confirmed that Hamilton & OOS aren't slotted for production any time soon). I think that removing hats from your website if you don't have any in stock, and don't plan on manufacturing new ones within 6 months could be a good move, because it was disappointing finding nearly all my first-choice hats out of stock. Don't give people false hope!
